On Saturday April 18 Dream To Achieve held its first ever College Awareness Day on Bard’s campus, in partnership with Bard’s Educational Opportunity Program (BEOP). Over 35 students and family attended from members from Hudson and Kingston. They were led through a variety workshops led by BEOP students and BEOP Assistant Director Truth Hunter.

Students and family members were split in to different workshops specific to their role in the college process. Family members learned about the timeline for the college process from 9th through 12th grade, as well as ways they can best support their child when they’re away from home. Students went through a workshop where they simulated creating a college list, as well as workshop where they created a sample college schedule. Everyone attending also went through a workshop on scholarships and affording college led by a member of the Bard Financial Aid Department.

Overall, it was a highly successful day! A follow up College Awareness Day will definitely be held at some point in the near future. Check out pictures from the day here.
